We donā€™t always know why we go through hardships, struggles, or sufferings, but we can always trust in God to help us through things. Turning to God, fellow Christians, and even your friends (and leaders) at Youth Group is the best way we can get through our struggles. God always has a plan for us and like the loving Father He is, wants us to live what is best for us.

Whatā€™s important when we go through times of suffering? TO KNOW GODā€™S PROMISES!
Andrew Slick shared a little about his experience with loss and suffering with us on Wednesday.

Small Group Questions/Reflection Questions:

Think about a time when you experienced suffering. What did other people do that was helpful or made you feel loved?

Which of Godā€™s promises do you think would be helpful to know in the midst of suffering?

What scares you about empathizing with someone in their suffering?

What is an action step you can do now (in the mountains) to prepare for when you are in the valley?

OR If youā€™re in the valley, what is something your small group can do to care for you?

Zach Romersberger have a talk summarizing the first part of the story of Job last Wednesday. Hereā€™s a reminder to reflect on some of the questions he gave to the small groups!

1. Suffering is not fun to go through, but what are some good things that can come out of suffering?

2. Jobā€™s friends assume since Job was suffering, he must have done a terrible sin. Do you ever think youā€™d suffering is a direct punishment from God?

3. Do you think that God prevents suffering in response to holiness?

4. God never explains to Job why he suffered. Do you think God owes us an explanation for why we suffer?

5. What are the negative effects that suffering can have if we donā€™t think about it in the right way?

6. Does it feel fair that good people still suffer, and sometimes even more that others? What should we do with those feelings?

If you have any questions feel free to message us or talk to a youth group leader on Wednesday! We can about you and want to help you through any questions and of course support you through any suffering!
