Just a reminder that tomorrow, April 14, Bishop Craig Anderson, interim pastor at Faith Lutheran in Madison, will preach and preside at the worship service at Garfield. Garfield's worship time for April 14 will change from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. so Bishop Anderson can be here. Following worship at Garfield, at approximately noon or 12:15 p.m., he will be leading a discussion downstairs centering on his experience with small rural churches and our efforts towards developing a vision for our future. ANYONE FROM BOTH CHURCHES is invited to this meeting. Coffee will be served. Please plan to attend and help spread the word as you are able!

Plans have changed for Jim Ernst's funeral. There will now be a memorial service for Jim on Monday, Nov. 13 at 1:30 p.m. at Garfield, with his burial service and committal in the church cemetery at 2 p.m. Lunch and fellowship will follow after the committal service. There will be no scheduled visitation. May God continue to strengthen and comfort his family.

‘Tis the season! Daylight Saving Time ends this coming weekend.

The Garfield council at their July council meeting decided not to have a worship service tomorrow, Sunday, September 10. There are many options. There is a cowboy worship at 9 at the fair, an ecumenical worship at 11 at the fair, MN valley and Borgund will have a worship service at the madison mercantile at 9, and of course LqP has their service at 10:15. Pastor was not aware of this change when he put together the September newsletter and just found out about it at church last Sunday.

Garfield Lutheran Church on Sunday, May 21 recognized our lone high school graduate during the service and with a reception in his honor afterwards. Congratulations, Jacob Bringle!

Lynn Hanson's funeral for today has been postponed. Plans are now for visitation tomorrow, Sunday, from 5 to 7 pm at Zahrbock Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 pm, and the funeral at Garfield on Monday at 10:30 am. Stay safe, everyone!
