Kadampa Meditation Center Madison

Kadampa Meditation Center Madison Kadampa Meditation Center welcomes everyone! We offer meditation and classes in Modern Buddhism. We offer meditation classes for all levels of experience.

Kadampa Meditation Center Madison is a friendly and welcoming place for everyone. Our class design always includes two guided meditations and a short talk or teaching on a topic suitable for busy, modern people. We also offer study programs for those interested in increasing their understanding and experience of Buddhist philosophy and practice. Our classes, day courses, study programs, chanted pr

ayers and pujas offer a variety of events for everyone. You do not have to be a Buddhist to attend the classes, or benefit from the techniques taught. Our center is dedicated to helping everyone develop and maintain their own inner peace, which naturally reduces problems and eliminates stress. We have a resident teacher, Gen Kelsang Gomlam, who teaches most of the classes and leads the meditations. Kadampa Meditation Center Madison is a non-profit organization and a member of the New Kadampa Tradition-International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU). We are open 30 minutes before and after every event. Please drop in! For more detailed information and downloadable calendars, please visit our website at www.meditationinmadison.org, or feel free to contact us via phone, email, or Facebook messaging.

🙏 Happy Turning the Wheel of Dharma Day💫
🪷 Today we remember Buddha’s extraordinary kindness in giving the first Dharma teachings in this world — teachings that reveal the root of suffering and show us the path to lasting freedom and peace.
✨ We also joyfully celebrate the birthday of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, whose life was dedicated to preserving and presenting Kadam Dharma teachings in a way that people of the modern world can understand, practice, and benefit from.
🌿 May Kadam Dharma continue to flourish everywhere, bringing peace, wisdom, and happiness to countless living beings.

🌿 With deep gratitude, we rejoice in Dave’s new chapter as he leaves KMC Madison to support KMC Chicago and help Kadam Dharma continue to flourish there.
💙 Dave’s constant effort, humble attitude, kindness, care for others, and sincere commitment to his spiritual practice have inspired so many of us. Through his example, he has shown what it means to serve with a good heart.
🙏 For many of us, Dave has been a living example of someone quietly practicing the Bodhisattva way—helping, supporting, encouraging, and giving without needing attention or praise.
✨ Thank you, Dave, for everything you have offered to KMC Madison. We congratulate you on this new position and wish you every success as you support larger projects at KMC Chicago.
We rejoice in you! 💛

🪷Last Sunday, Gen Dorje reminded us that our kind actions are never wasted. They create causes that will protect us from future suffering and bring happiness when the conditions come together.
🙏🏾As Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche explains: “Virtuous actions sow seeds of future happiness, and non-virtuous actions sow seeds of future suffering.”
😌 Join us every Sunday to learn practical Buddhist wisdom on how kindness, meditation, and positive intentions can transform our future from the inside out.

✨ Before KMC Madison became what it is today, Gen Kelsang Khedrub helped plant the seeds of Modern Buddhism here in Madison.
🌱 Now, we’re happy to welcome him back for Finding Peace, a special weekend course on developing profound inner peace, concentration, and a calm, joyful mind.
💙 As Gen Khedrub shares in this clip, the wish to become a true friend of the world begins with cultivating inner strength and peace.
