Ascension Day

Almighty God, whose blessed Son our Savior Jesus Christ ascended far above all heavens that he might fill all things: Mercifully give us faith to perceive that, according to his promise, he abides with his Church on earth, even to the end of the ages; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

Artwork - Himmelfahrt Christi (Ascension Day) - by Mattheis Störbel- 1515-1519 - exhibited in the Deutsche Museum Nürnberg - German Renaissance altar painting depicting the Ascension of Christ showing only his feet and lower legs, thus signifying his departure from the earthly, pictorial space into heaven, often emphasizing his humanity and the "last steps" on earth.

This Friday, May 8th, is the feast day of Saint Julian of Norwich. The icons that are in progress at the church will be placed around the altar that day. Father John will celebrate the feast day with a service at 9:15 AM. All are welcome to attend.
