To All of Our Students,
My heart sits heavy and I know our community is grieving the loss of a young life. Moments like this leave us all with heavy hearts and many unanswered questions.
You don’t have to carry this alone. Talk to someone you trust: a friend, parent, teacher, coach, or counselor. Let people walk with you through what you’re feeling.
Even in moments that feel dark and heavy, you matter deeply. Your life has value, your story has purpose, and there are people who care about you more than you know.
If you’re struggling, please reach out to someone. You don’t have to face hard moments by yourself.
You are seen. You are loved. And you are not alone.
Scripture reminds us that the Lord is near:
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:18 ESV
God is near to our community right now, near to the grieving family, hurting friends, and near to you.
Let us hold one another up, check in on each other, and remind those beside us that their lives matter.
I want to remind you of these things:
I want to remind you of the hope of Jesus (1 Peter 1:3-7). I want to remind you that you are the image bearer of the God in heaven who created you (Genesis 1:27). I want to remind you that the Lord doesn’t make mistakes and your life is on purpose and full of purpose (Ephesians 2:10). I want to remind you that there is nothing that cannot be overcome and that there is nothing we cannot work through together (John 16:33). And I want to remind you that you never lose your value (Psalm 139 7-14).
Scripture reminds us that we have a God who loves us and uphold us:
“fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10 ESV
God is always with us, even when we feel like we are alone. He will never leave our side and he reminds us that it’s not us who holds him up, but he who holds us up.
If you don’t know this or have never heard it:
I love you and I’m proud of you.
You are not alone.
Your life is worth living.
