The Village Church Nashville

The Village Church Nashville The Village Church is an Afrikan-centered Christian Church located in Nashville, TN. as the Organizing Pastor. Cayce Homes public housing community.

We desire to bear witness to Jesus Christ in the world through living lives that reflect our commitment to living in obedience to the Word of God as revealed in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that Afrikan culture provides an excellent vehicle for framing our ministry as the Christian witness begins in Africa. The Village Church began organization on November 1, 1997,

under the leadership of Dr. Andrew Lee Stephens, Jr. The congregation initially gathered for worship in the James A. From the beginning, the Village has been involved in a ministry that has sought to transform the communities around us. We believe that God calls the church to engage every aspect of our lives. This is the reason that we are active in ministries that seek to improve public education outcomes, increase the availability of quality and affordable healthcare, honors and strengthens marriages and address a broad spectrum of other concerns that affect the quality of our lives. In everything we do in the Village we are guided by the Holy Spirit and informed by the gospel as recorded in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Worship is a weekly celebration of who God is and preparation to respond through living as the people of God all week long. We are committed to an inclusive community of faith that welcomes all people who desire to have an authentic relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Come and join us soon!

World Su***de Prevention Day reminds us that su***de prevention is not the work of one day.

Sometimes pain is visible. Sometimes it is carefully hidden behind achievement, caregiving, laughter, faith, professionalism, or simply the words, “I’m fine.”

We can help create spaces where people do not have to hide their pain to protect everyone else’s comfort.

Check on the people you love. Listen without rushing to fix, judge, minimize, or theologize their pain. Take expressions of hopelessness seriously. Encourage professional support when it is needed. And remind people that needing help is part of being human.

For those who have struggled with thoughts of su***de: your pain deserves care and attention. You do not have to carry it alone.

For those grieving someone who died by su***de: your grief matters, too.

And for those of us who are therapists, clergy, family members, friends, colleagues, and community leaders: su***de prevention requires more than telling people to “reach out.” It also asks us to become people and communities that are safe to reach toward.

Connection matters. Compassion matters. Access to mental health care matters. Hope matters.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a suicidal or mental health crisis in the United States, call or text 988 to connect with the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

Brunch & Bible Study today at The Village

We're having a casual Bible Study/Brunch, similar to the ones we had back in the day at the North Nashville location.

Menu: waffles, turkey bacon and eggs from the local farmer's market

You can just show up! If you want to bring an item, don’t make it complicated! Keep in easy!

This is primarily an opportunity to fellowship, pray together and explore God's presence in the Word, in a casual gathering.

We hope to see you there.
