Ordination Novena for Deacons Casey Cooney, Barry Meinholz, Luis Reyes, and Mark Wagner, Day 7: May our new priests be truly conformed to the Sacred Heart of Jesus by radiating His mercy toward sinners and receiving all people with love.

Novena Prayer:

Lord Jesus, We thank You for the gift of the priesthood and for calling our brothers Casey, Barry, Luis, and Mark to serve the Diocese of Madison as Your priests. May the graces of their ordination conform them ever more closely to You as they seek to imitate You, the Good Shepherd. Give them a tender love for all whom they serve, fervor in celebrating the Sacraments, compassion for sinners, and a deep desire to lead all people to the Heart of the Father. Give them the strength to live up to the dignity of their high calling. May the example of their lives reveal the love and mercy of Your Heart and inspire others to give themselves more fully to You and to the service of Your Church. Amen.

Michael Hess' ordination to the transitional diaconate is just a few hours away! The public is welcome to the ordination, which will begin at 5:00 pm at St. Cecilia Church in Wisconsin Dells. Please be aware that an event this weekend will bring extra traffic into the Wisconsin Dells area, so plan to give yourself plenty of time to drive into town, and arrive early to save a seat!

On Friday, May 22, Bishop Hying will ordain our four transitional deacons--Deacons Casey Cooney, Barry Meinholz, Luis Reyes, and Mark Wagner--to the priesthood. Please join us in praying a novena for them in these final days before their ordination, from Wednesday, May 13 through Thursday, May 21! We will post each day's novena intention and prayers on this page at 5:00 am.

Let us thank God for blessing us with four new priests this year and pray for them as they prepare to begin their priestly ministry! Congratulations to Deacons Casey, Barry, Luis, and Mark!

Bishop Hying invites all in the diocese to the ordination of Michael Hess to the transitional diaconate this Friday, May 15! The Mass will be at 5:00 pm at St. Cecilia Church in Wisconsin Dells. If you plan to attend, try to avoid traveling on Highway 12 and Broadway, due to an event happening in Wisconsin Dells this weekend that will bring additional traffic into town.

Regardless of whether you are able to join us at the ordination, please pray for Michael Hess as he prepares for Holy Orders and takes this big step on his path to the priesthood!
