A MESSAGE FROM REV. CRAIG
Dear Members and Friends,
As many gather this Labor Day weekend with family and friends for picnics, a day at the beach or alone on a hammock to mark the unofficial end of summer, let us set aside a moment to observe the holiday for which this weekend is named. Let us take a moment, as Paul Dalzell writes below, “to honor all work.”
This Labor Day, let us kindle within the chalice of our hearts a flame to honor all work.
Not only the work we do for pay with our hands, our backs, and our minds, that is important, yes. But also the work we do for love!
The work we do to help others stay alive, and belong instead of being outcasts.
The work we do to ensure people are paid fairly, work reasonable hours, and have quality in their lives.
The work we do caring for the young, the old, the infirm.
The work we do to mentor, to educate, to advocate, and to enrich the community, the country, and the world.
We honor all the labors that support our world, and all the work we do to make this a better place.
