This coming Sunday, we’re continuing our series on being transformed into the likeness of Jesus.

“Faith That Fights Fear.”

We’ll be in Mark 4:35–41 and Mark 5:36–40, looking at a truth we all need: transformation begins when we learn to trust Jesus in the middle of the storm.

Fear has a way of exposing what’s really going on inside us. Sometimes it shows up in panic. Sometimes it shows up a desire to control. Sometimes anger, silence, avoidance, or assuming the worst. But in Mark, we see Jesus meet people in terrifying moments — a storm on the sea, a desperate father, a situation that looked too far gone — and He calls them to trust Him there.

Not after the storm passes.
Not once everything makes sense.
But right in the middle of it.

As you prepare for Sunday, pay attention to one “storm moment” — a moment where anxiety rises or fear starts taking the lead. Before it hits, try giving yourself one simple sentence to hold onto:

“Jesus is with me; I will trust Him.”

Then practice one calm response before reacting — a breath prayer, a pause, a moment of silence, a slower answer.

You might also consider these questions:

What kinds of storms tend to expose your fears?
What do you learn about Jesus when you trust Him in real time?
What’s one calm response you could practice this week?
We’d love for you to join us in person this Sunday morning for worship. Come ready to sing, pray, open God’s Word, and be reminded that even when the storm is loud, Jesus is still near — and He is still Lord.

We are located right in the heart of Madison, TN. See you there?

There’s something special about a place where you can walk in as a stranger and leave knowing a few new faces.

At Madison Church of Christ, we’re not interested in putting on a show or pretending we have everything figured out. We don't. We’re just people trying to follow Jesus, encourage one another, and make room for anyone who wants to be part of the conversation.

So if you’ve ever wondered what we’re about… **come find out.**

Would you like to visit Madison Church of Christ this Sunday? We’d love to meet you.

You can find us at the corner of OHB/State Route 45 and Gallatin Pike, right in the heart of Madison Tennessee.

"For as long as I can remember, I have asked deep questions about life and God's purpose for me. At just six years old, I remember asking the Lord why I was here in this world and what He wanted me to do with my life.
I prayed that God would make me strong, never realizing the difficult roads I would one day have to travel. Looking back, I can now see that God was preparing me in ways I did not understand."

Karla shares how God has sustained her and shaped her story on Stories of Amazing Grace.

Sometimes it really is the little things.

A cup of coffee. A smile. A conversation with someone you didn’t know when you walked through the door.

That’s part of what we love about Madison Church of Christ. We’re a group of ordinary people trying to follow Jesus, figure life out together, and make sure there’s always room for one more.

If you’ve never been, maybe this is your invitation.
First time? Let us get you a cup of coffee and see what you think.

Would you like to visit Madison Church of Christ? We’d love to have you.

Forgiveness doesn’t just clear the record—it opens the door to a new direction.

This week, take a few quiet minutes with God and be honest:

Write down the pattern you keep going back to—the habit, attitude, temptation, or sin that keeps pulling you away from who God is shaping you to be.

Confess it to Him. Don’t dress it up. Don’t minimize it. Just bring it into the light.

Then make one clear decision:
“What boundary do I need to put in place this week so I stop making room for this?”

Be specific.
Not “I’ll try harder.”
But “I won’t go there.”
“I’ll delete that.”
“I’ll call someone when I’m tempted.”
“I’ll stop scrolling after 9.”
“I’ll stay away from that conversation.”
“I’ll make that change today.”

Then pray:
“God, forgive me. Give me a new heart, a new pattern, and a new direction.”

A few questions to sit with or talk through with your group:

- What does forgiveness make possible that guilt never could?
- What boundary would actually reduce temptation for you this week?
- How can your people encourage you without excusing the sin?

Lasting change doesn’t come from hiding.
It starts with confession, forgiveness, and a willingness to walk a different way.

This coming Sunday, we’re continuing our series on being transformed into the likeness of Jesus.

“Sin No Longer Rules: Freedom Through the Forgiving King.”

We’ll be in Mark 2:1–12 and Romans 6:6–14, looking at a powerful truth: forgiveness doesn’t just cover our past — it creates new patterns and new direction for our lives. Because of Jesus, sin does not get the final word. We are not trapped, stuck, or defined by what we keep returning to. Our forgiving King calls us into freedom.

As you prepare for Sunday, consider this simple growth practice for the week:

Take a few minutes to write down a pattern you keep returning to. Confess it honestly to God. Then write one specific boundary you will put in place this week — and when you’ll begin. Pray for forgiveness, strength, and a new direction.

You might also sit with these questions:

- What role does forgiveness play in lasting change?
- What boundary would actually reduce temptation this week?
- How can we encourage one another without excusing sin?

We’d love for you to join us in person this Sunday morning for worship. Come ready to sing, pray, open God’s Word, and be reminded again that Jesus has the authority to forgive — and the power to help us walk in freedom.

We are located right in the heart of Madison TN. See you there?

We all struggle with sin—but we don’t have to stay trapped in it.

God’s forgiveness frees us, and His Spirit helps us put wise boundaries in place so we can become more like Jesus.

What boundary do you need to set this week to guard your heart?

Join us this Sunday at 9 AM at Madison Church of Christ as we continue our series on transformation and talk about the forgiveness that helps us fight the struggle with sin.

God has called you -- not just to be saved, but to follow. In Mark 1:16-20, Jesus did not hesitate. He called, and they left everything immediately. That same call is on your life today.

We are all Christ's ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:18-20). Not just those in ministry. Not just those on a stage. Every single one of us has been chosen, set apart, and sent to declare the praises of the One who called us out of darkness.

The question is not whether God has called you. The question is whether you believe it enough to answer.

Come join us as we continue our series on being transformed into the likeness of Jesus. When we truly follow him, we stop missing the divine appointments placed right in front of us -- and we start living the calling we were made for.
