This was the scene at St. Andrew’s when our teen volunteers and their chaperones left for a week at Orland, Maine’s H.O.M.E. social service organization.

A job so well done that the organization has asked our group to handle food preparation at their major Fund-raising event during upcoming summers.

Rogation Sunday was observed last Sunday by walking around our campus and reciting prayers at 13 different locations - the outdoor chapel, the preschool entrance, etc.

Rogation - which comes from the latin “to ask” - is an ancient tradition in which the priest and congregation would walk the boudaries of the parish praying for a good harvest

Maundy Thursday services - complete with foot washing - will be held at 7 p.m. tonight, April 2.

On Good Friday, there will be a Way of the Cross observed along the Serenity Trail starting at noon. Meet in front of the church.

The Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.

On Saturday, the Great Vigil of Easter will begin in the Resurrection Garden, where the fire to light the Pascal Candle will be lit. The worshipers will then process into the church for the Liturgy of the Word and the first Eucharist of the Easter season.

Easter Sunday will be celebrated with services at 8:30 and 10 a..m. that will feature participatory performances of the Hallelujah Chorus.

Palm Sunday was observed with the blessing of the palms in the outdoor chapel then a singing procession into the church.
