🤝 Feeling lonely? You're not alone — and meditation might help.

A Carnegie Mellon University study found that mindfulness meditation can meaningfully reduce feelings of loneliness. And since loneliness is linked to serious health risks, that's no small thing.

A few quiet minutes with yourself might actually help you feel more connected to the world around you. đź’™

Ethical conduct

We refrain from destructive behaviors because we recognize the consequences. This empowers us to rise above acting and speaking in harmful ways.

We can practice the six perfections in order to cultivate the states of mind that pave the path to liberation and enlightenment.

Generosity: The willingness to give others what they need. This reminds us that we do have something to offer others and it can help us overcome attitudes of attachment and stinginess, which results in states of mind that lead to problems.
— Lama Kipu

If there is a solution to a problem, why worry? And if there is nothing you can do, why worry? Change what you can change and accept what you can’t. One thing we can definitely change is our perspective.

Songs of resistance have long brought people together in times of struggle, hope, and change. Music reminds us that even in difficult moments, our voices still matter and community still matters.

Sharing this beautiful offering by Amber as part of our ongoing reflections on compassion, courage, and collective care. ✨

🤱 For expecting mothers — this one's for you.

A University of Michigan study found that pregnant women who practised mindfulness yoga for ten weeks experienced significant reductions in depression symptoms.

They also reported feeling a deeper bond with their babies — even before birth.

Mindfulness meets us wherever we are in life — even in those tender, transformative months of pregnancy. 🌸

When practicing loving kindness with a person or situation that is difficult, we may experience a different sense in our body than with a person or situation that we enjoy. In that moment, we need care and have a responsibility to take care of ourselves simultaneously in order to create a feeling of safety. One way we can come back to ourselves is by incorporating “RAIN” meditation into our practice:

R: recognize. Naming the uncomfortable feeling that arises allows us to interrupt automatic thinking.

A: allow. You can allow that feeling rather than pushing it away.

I: investigate. How does this feeling feel? Experience it with curiosity, noticing where you feel it in your body and any underlying beliefs associated with it.

N: nourish. Offer yourself compassion and cultivate mindfulness skills.

This is the human condition and when we feel this way, it’s a gateway to really learn empathy, both for others and for ourselves.

“Wis” comes from the word wise, which is linked to seeing and knowing. “Dom” comes from judgment and law. This is the ability to correctly distinguish between right and wrong or virtuous and non-virtuous. When we put them together, we get wisdom, which is being aware and drawing logical conclusions, being able to analyze virtuous and non-virtuous. — Lama Kipu

When we struggle with impatience, we may put pressure on ourselves, thinking, “If I were doing this the right way, I should be able to forgive and just move on.” That can lead to frustration or even guilt when it doesn’t happen quickly.
