Pastor Octavious Tookes was born on January 10, 1951 to Sam and Argatha Tookes.
Pastor Tookes along with his wife Pearly Tookes became the leaders of Revelation Missionary Baptist Church which was founded in January of 2016. They have jointly been involved in the ministry of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for over 24 years before they started on this new calling by God. Pastor Tookes loved his church family dearly and compassionately. He always felt it a privilege and a joy to shepherd his flock.

Pastor Tookes believed that all people are to be treated fairly and without partiality. We are all children of God and have been created by the same creator. If one has been given more than the other, it is for the one who has more to reflect the love of Christ by sharing with the one who has less. To whom much is given much is required.
Pastor Tookes served in the United States Air force as a Pilot for 2 ½ years. He worked as Chaplain at the Madison County Correctional Institution.
To forever cherish and treasure his life, love, and legacy is his wife of 25 years, Mrs. Pearl, whom he loved so very much; 4 daughters, Octavia Tookes, Tonya Cason (Hakili Washington ), Tiffany Hamilton (Michael), Anastasia Frazier (Eugene), Nivea Capehart ; 2 sons, Micah Tookes (Rachel), and Jervis Tookes; sister, Darlene Duncan (Victor); Brother, Jeffrey Bevel; 3 sisters in law, Anita Williams (Napoleon), Patricia Jackson, Sheila Jackson; brothers in law: Larry Jackson and Melvin Jackson; daughter in law, Ciera Cason. He was the proud grandfather of 23 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, and close friends. Adopted daughters, Karla Jones. Mary Ware, Geneva Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Sam and Argatha Tookes, sons, Octavious Tookes Jr., Jerome Cason Jr.
Octavious experienced immense love, joy and laughter with his family and considered himself a man most blessed in this regard.
Tookes last words to his beloved wife, “ One thing I know for sure is that I love the Lord, he heard my cry and I love you…”
