Events organized by Korinji monastery in Wisconsin, USA and worldwide within Rinzai Zen International.

Our project manager on site with his son, surveying the construction progress. The floor plan of the previous monastery building was first designed by us on a napkin at a local restaurant. But this one was first laid out by the young one, in Minecraft. The final design is very close to his original plan!

Now the foundations have been backfilled. Next, slabs will be poured.

These two friends were precious gifts: an Edo-period Daikokuten statue, and an old wood Daruma image used as a mold for making Daruma dolls.

Soon they will come to Korinji. Daikokuten-sama will watch over our kitchen. Daruma Daishi will sit on the altar during our next Daruma-ki ceremony in October.

Classes are resuming Tuesday evenings at the Shambhala center starting September 1st, 7pm. Of course, the Sunday sits at Aikido of Madison continue as usual at 12:30pm. See you there!
