I started this page to share things about Mama and Daddy. To share how blessed we are to have been raised the way we were by two amazing, loving, Christian parents. I miss Daddy so much. I always knew the day would come when I no longer had him I just really never considered it would be without Mike and Uncle Myron too.

I would like to thank everyone for praying for my family, especially Mama and Daddy. It never ceases to amaze me how great God is. Daddy starts treatment Wed. We know this won't heal things, but will hopefully slow things down a bit. Thank you again. God Bless!

I have been thinking a lot about Mike lately. Maybe it's because I'm struggling with some things and could use his advice or maybe it's because his birthday is coming up. This morning I was thinking about when Granny would tell me how I got my nickname. Well Mama when went into labor with me, Mike went down and stayed with Uncle Daddy, Aunt Carrie and Uncle Myron and he wanted a little brother so bad. He felt like he had two sisters and he needed a brother. He got stuck with me!!! When I came home from the hospital they called and told Mike to come on home, that I was home, well he was not happy because I was a girl and granny said she could still see him walking up to the hayfield just as slow as he could look like he was dragging his feet. Well he walked in the house, looked at me laying in the crib, and said, "well you are a cute thing Jo" and I have been Joe ever since. I can't remember the last time Mike or daddy either one actually called me Jenifer, it's been it's Jo always, but I've always loved that memory.

I planted this rose bush when Sami was born. No matter what I did or what I put on it the rose bush would never get up past my knees and never had more than one or two blooms a year. The Year Mike passed away this bush took off like wildfire, it grew until it was taller than I am and was so full of blooms that it would felt was leaning over and it's done that ever since he passed, all spring and all summer. This is the rose Sami bought in to me today that she said Bella picked out for me. I think of Mike every time I see it. To make it even better, it smells as beautiful as it looks.

When Kirt and Sami were little they would argue over who was my favorite child. My response of course was Kirt is my favorite son and Sami my favorite daughter, needless to say that wasn't good enough lol. This argument still continues. Well for Mother's day my wonderful daughter-in-law decided she would solve the whole thing....

I have always known how great my parents are. Now, I know how truly special and rare they are. I've made more than my share of mistakes but they have never turned their backs on me. Even when I was hard to love they still did. I truly don't know where I'd be if not for them.

When I originally started this page I did it to give people but no Mom and Daddy a place to leave comments for them. I have read some amazing comments and I just I don't know how to express how much it means to me. I guess you're wondering why the name change. It came to me this week but maybe I'm supposed to be doing something different with this page. Now, it is still a place for people to leave messages for Mom and Daddy if they like but I changed the name because I feel like I need to use this page as a way to let others know I truly special mom and daddy are. Please if you have anything you'd like to add please do it it amazes me how many people Mom and Daddy have touched. Now one other thing if you have any memories of Mike that you would be willing to share on here so I can show Mom and Daddy that would really mean a lot I know my brother touched a lot of people with his music.

I am posting this on here for 2 reasons. 1) I know many of yall know Mama and Daddy because they were frequently would be there whenever we played and 2) I know they would love to hear any memories and stories about Mike.

A few weeks ago, my daughter Sami, posted asking for people that rode Mama's bus to get in touch, well that gave me an idea.

Not only did Mama drive the school bus daily, she also drove sports teams, band trips, field trips and even the Piedmont run for a number of years. Along with driving the bus, Mama was a substitute teacher, girl scout leader, awesome chaperone, and helped coach softball.

Mama and Daddy have been big Mountaineer supporters as far back as I can remember. Football, basketball, softball, you always knew they were there. Band concerts, chorus concerts, plays and parades...

I created this page to have a place to leave a memory, share a story, a picture or just leave them a message. A place where I can easily show them. It would mean the world to them and me. I'm doing this for family, friends, anyone who has something to say. Please share/tag anyone you can think of that would be interested. Thank you for taking the time to do this for them.
