Happy Mothers Day! Founding Mothers Cemetery tour was a great success. We had to move indoors to the 1899 Webb Chapel due to weather. Great crowd, great ghosts, great crew. Keeping history alive! Highlighted ghosts...
James Webb... MC or Master of Cemeteries. Madison philanthropist who built Webb Chapel in honor of his son who died of tuberculosis in his 20s.
Benjamin Bonnell... revolutionary war soldier who served in the famed NJ Blues and on Washington's Lifeguard
Eunice Horton... wife of the first pastor of the church from the 1740s. Known as Madison's first business woman.
Sara Kitchell Ford... one of the most resilient mothers! Traveled to Ohio and back.  husband was a counterfeiter and criminal, yet she help her family together with grit and grace.
Jennie Drinkwater... successful, businesswoman, famous author, and founder of the Shut In Society
Queen Louisa Harrison ... queen of the Romany gypsies
Amabel Sharff Roberts ... college educated, became a nurse, took a ship across the Atlantic to serve her country as a nurse in the World War I in France. Unfortunately, she died serving her country. A war hero, and an inspiration.
