and the love of Christ in our lives. Though each of our testimonies are quite unique, they all end with the saving grace of Jesus Christ! Lying is often treated as a "little sin," but God does not see it that way. Satan's description began with lies, mankind fell through lies, and even believers can grieve God through dishonesty. Though salvation is secure in Christ, God still takes lying seriously and causes people to walk in truth.

Mid Week Bible Wisdom
Title: Commitment is Serious

God does not force obedience, giving, or service, He gives us the choice to obey Him willingly. But when we make commitments before God, He expects us to be truthful and faithful to follow through. Our words matter because God hears every promise, every vow, and every commitment we make period to make a vow lightly and break it is not merely dishonesty toward people, it is a serious matter before the Lord.

Supporting KJV scripture:

"When thou vowest a vow unto God, deferred not to pay it..." Ecclesiastes 5: 4-5

God warns us not to make careless promises; it is better not to vow than to vow and not fulfill it.

"If a man bow a vow unto the LORD... he shall not break his word..." Numbers 30: 2

God expects his people to be people of integrity whose words carry weight.

"Thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God." Acts 5: 3-4

Ananias and Sapphira remind us that dishonesty concerning spiritual commitments is ultimately sin against God himself.
