“I can’t feel God. I can’t pray. God doesn’t hear me.” These are lies from Satan, and if listened to, they can cause anxieties, discouragement, nervous breakdowns, and more. As believers, we need to listen to God. How do we hear Him? The Bible says, “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). Get into the Word and learn His voice. Turn a deaf ear to Satan and his lies—we’ve got to make that strong because too many Christians are living in defeat by listening to the devil and their own feelings instead of hearing what the Word of God says. Don’t let feelings of doubt and discouragement take root in your heart and live there. Feelings fade. Get into God’s Word—we can’t stress that enough—and let His Word take root in your heart. Faith comes before feeling. There have been times in my own life when I have stared Satan in the face, so I know that struggle. I also know what it is to stand there and say, “I don’t care what you try to tell me. I don’t care how much you try to make me doubt. I am going to believe. I am going to believe. I know God’s Word is true and I believe it. It doesn’t matter whether I feel saved or not. God’s Word is true. I believe it, and I believe Him.”
