Today, we celebrate freedom. On June 19, 1865, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally learned they were free, marking a powerful moment in history. As we remember this day, may we not only reflect but actively pursue peace, justice, unity, and the dignity of every person created in the image of God.
