This week, we were reminded that real joy is not rooted in our circumstances, but in Christ. Even in hardship, community, life, and mission, Jesus gives us a joy that cannot be shaken.

The Holy Spirit is not a spirit of fear.

He is a Spirit of power, love, and self-control. Fear will try to keep you from surrendering, stepping out, and walking in what God has called you to do.

But God did not give you fear. He gave you His Spirit.

Jesus did not say He would build His Church on man. He said He would build it on the truth of who He is. The foundation of the Church is not personality, tradition, or opinion. It is the confession that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. That truth is still our firm foundation today.
