Please join us in prayer as we ask God to guide the next steps of Concordia's ministries. On Thursday, May 21, we will spend a day in prayer as a congregation. This Prayer Vigil will help direct our hearts and minds as we look to the future. The Letter to James says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him." (1:5). Concordia’s leaders are meeting to envision the future of our life together. Let us begin our work together with intentional prayer.

You may sign up for as many slots as you wish using the Sign-Up Genius link, or a printed sign-up sheet is also available outside the church office. We hope to see you there!

What participants can expect:
Each thirty-minute session begins with 8-13 minutes of scripture reading followed by prayer. We will meet at the chancel steps to read scripture and pray. A Genysys Group facilitator, your pastor and/or vicar, and/or elder will also be present. Whoever is assembled for prayer will pray together, as the Spirit leads. You may choose to participate in reading the psalms, verbal prayer, or pray in silence.

“Blessed Father, You grant us life through our parents and You set children in families. Be pleased to bless our mothers, especially on this Mothers’ Day. Help them recognize the holy office You have entrusted to them, and strengthen them to serve faithfully and well within it. Grant that their motherly service may not be burdensome, but rather joyful and glad. Bless all women who do not have children and those whose children are estranged from them, that their hope and confidence may ever remain in You in whom true joy is found. Give us loving hearts that freely give thanks for our mothers, that heartily forgive them where they have failed and fallen short, that willingly obey them, and that gladly honor them. Amen.”

Please join in prayer for the Lutheran Women in Mission Districts gathering in convention this week.

💜 The LWML Atlantic District will be meeting in Suffern, New York, under the theme “Joyful, Patient, Faithful” based on Romans 12:12. Deac. Raquel Rojas is presiding.

💜 The Carolinas District LWML will gather in Conover, North Carolina, with a theme of “I Lift My Eyes to the Hills” based on Isaiah Psalm 121:1. Paula Daniels is presiding.

💜 The LWML English District will gather in Brookfield, Wisconsin, with a theme of “A Reason for Hope” based on 1 Peter 3:15. Carol Klein is presiding.

💜 The LWML SELC District ( https://lwmlselc.mystrikingly.com/ )will gather in St. Louis, Missouri, with a theme of “Rivers of Living Water” based on John 7:38–39. Carol A. Miksad is presiding.

💜 The LWML Utah-Idaho District will gather in Pocatello, Idaho, with a theme of “Chosen to Serve” based on John 15:16–17. Terri Bentley is presiding.

Dear Lord, we ask you to be with all women in the Atlantic, Carolinas, English, SELC, and Utah-Idaho districts as they plan for, travel to, and attend their conventions this week. We give thanks for all the District Presidents and pray the Lord blesses their efforts going into the convention. For the Senior District Presidents, we thank God for their service, and for the Junior District Presidents, we ask God to bless all they do to His glory. Bless everyone's time together that they might know your love for them and equip them with what they need to serve you. May the Christian fellowship be uplifting, and everything be done to your glory! Keep everyone safe throughout the convention and give them warm welcomes when they reach their home afterwards. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Call Day 2026. Join us Tuesday, April 28, for two special services:

4 p.m. (EDT) [3:00pm CDT]
Assignment of Vicarages and Deaconess Internships
Second-year students are assigned their vicarages or deaconess internships for a year of fieldwork.

8 p.m. (EDT) [7:00pm CDT]
Assignment of Calls
Concluding students receive their first pastoral or diaconal calls.

Both services will be held in the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus and also will be livestreamed at csl.edu/live.

Everyone is encouraged to share celebratory comments and photos using on social media.
