Happy National Dog Day! 🐾
Recently, while weighed down by deep grief, I found myself lying on the floor alongside my friend’s dog, Pig. As my tears began to flow, she gently pressed in close, licking the tears from my face and simply staying right by my side.
In that vulnerable moment, face-down on the floor seeking God, a profound realization hit me: D.O.G. love is such a beautiful demonstration of God’s love for us.
It reminded me that God is always:
- Overjoyed to see us — greeting us with pure delight every single time.
- Loving us unconditionally — fully, completely, and without judgment.
- Eager for connection — longing to hold us close and comfort us.
- Treasuring our time — simply delighting in our presence.
- Welcoming us home — unconcerned with where we’ve been or what we’ve done, just overjoyed that we came back to Him.
- Present in our pain — unafraid of our biggest emotions, wiping away our tears while sitting right beside us in our brokenness.
- Always so close — never distant, never leaving our side.
I'm so grateful for the way dogs reflect the heart of the Creator. Give your pups some extra love today! ❤️🐶
