THE WORK WE HAVE BEEN CALLED TO
"We have NOT been saved by works, but we ARE called to work"

We are saved by grace, not by effort. The Bible makes it plain: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). Our salvation rests completely on Christ’s finished work on the cross, "not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy" (Titus 3:5).

But grace calls us to action. "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10). Faith that doesn’t move is dead (James 2:17), so "whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord" (Colossians 3:23). When we live this out, we "let our light shine before others" so God gets the glory (Matthew 5:16). We have not been saved by works, but we are absolutely saved for works.t
