Another wonderful day at interfaith mission camp! We journey to Holy Spirit Catholic Church to learn about Catholicism from Father Steve. The campers found some really wonderful connections to the synagogue that we visited yesterday and had some great questions about the Catholic faith. They got to notice and see all of the beautiful art in the Catholic Church and the different pieces that help explain about their faith. In the afternoon, our campers got to make flood buckets, learn more about disaster response, play a great game of capture the flag in the community garden, and create some peace murals. We continue to learn how we are called to love our neighbors!

This week children in our community are gathering at Centenary for Interfaith Mission Camp! Today we went to Temple Beth Israel and learned more about Judaism from Rabbi Bahar. We made challah bread, got to see the Torah, and learned more about Shabbat. Back at Centenary, the groups made tons of sandwiches for the Centenary Community fridge, did some beautiful art with Erin Hawkins at and played in Tatnall square park! What a joy to get to learn more about the faith practices of our neighbors as we all love God and love each other more fully!

How are you being called to be brave? Yesterday in worship we heard the story of Miriam and listened to the echoes within our own lives that invite us to be brave and bold, to stand up to power, and save others. While Miriam was not perfect in her bravery (cause who of us is?), she showed us that God is always calling us to do an act of bravery surrounded by community! Thank you to Don Clarke for leading our prayers and the great musicians of Basement Club for leading us in music as we sang how we wanna see you be brave!
