Progressive Young Men Academy The expectations on each individual involved in this program re high but the long term rewards will be lasting.

The Progressive Young Men Academy is a mentoring program established to uplift and motivate young men through: Spiritual Development, Fellowship, Instructional Seminars and Positive Interaction with Male Mentors. Matthew 4:19 says “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Our goal is to instill high moral and ethical values into each male and prepare them to become u

pstanding citizens in their community and world. The time is now upon us that we must stop rendering excuses for not doing, and roll up our sleeves and start doing. We must train up our young men in the ways of hard work, responsibility, accountability and love. To get a few good men, we must first start with one.

Looking for brothers who are not too busy to help guide our younger brothers. They have been guiding themselves for quite a while now....and we see how that is working out!

They PYMA will have our monthly meeting this Saturday at 10am. This will consist of us visiting sick and shut in members to spread some cheer and love.

Well we had another awesome session today! Our discussions were based on motivational speaker Eric Thomas's message "Don't Be Bitter Be Better". Thanks to the guys and mentors who attended. Special recognition goes out to my three young men (Angelo,Travon and Desmond) who have also recommitted themselves academically and received All A's and A, B Honor roll honors this time. Keep up the good work as well as the God work and thing will continue to go your way. Stay encouraged fellas!

Thanks to those who came out and joined us in a night of fun and fellowship. Congrats to our talented young member Mr. Zavion Woodford who prepared an awesome pot of chili that gave our Director a run for his money! Congrats to Our Director Rev. I.W.Evans Jr. for edging it out for a first place win. Special thanks also to Bro. Derrick Barrett, Sis Itovia Evans and First Lady Barbara Evans for their hard work and support. Our monthly meeting went well, we are in the process of renovating and beautifying our space that we will hold our meetings and seminars. We are also very excited about our additional members who came out today! We are blessed to have 12 young men to mentor at this time. The guys are excited about our up coming Black History Night at the church and our Spring Break College tour and Rigby celebration.

Today was wonderful as we celebrated the true meaning of Christmas. We visited the Macys Retirement Center and surprised our church member. He was so excited and shocked as we hugged him and presented him with a Christmas goodie bag and showed him the bags for his fellow residents. He and the others were so happy! Christmas is about love, Gods love that we enjoy and share with others...if you love...show it!

We had a great turn out for the monthly mentor session. Last month we talked about Bullying, why bullying happens, how to avoid it and how to attack it! Today we talked about respect and how important it it's is to show respect to all and show respect as the Bible outlines. We meet every 2nd Saturday at 10 am-11am.
