Join us for worship this Sunday, 8/23, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church at 595 New St. for our Joint Bicentennial Worship Service. We will NOT hold an 11:00 a.m. service at 511 High Place this Sunday!

Sunday School will be held at FBCX at 9:45 and will dismiss at 10:30 to allow worshippers to travel to FBC. A shuttle from FBCX to FBC will be provided for those who need assistance.

Note: The FBC New St. elevator is currently out of order. Assistance for those needing it will be available at the steps on the Cotton Avenue side of the building, where there are less steps to enter the sanctuary.

Tomorrow (August 9), Pastor Julie will be offering a "State of the Church" sermon in worship, reflecting on where we are as a congregation and how we are continuing to discern God's call for the next season of the church's life.

In the last moments of summer break, several of our youth took a trip to Rigby’s on Saturday. 🏎️

On Sunday, our rising 1st and 6th graders were presented with new Bibles during our Back-to-School Service, our youth began a new 4-week Bible study, and our annual youth ice cream tradition took place.🍦

The youngest members of our community enjoyed a fun and meaningful weekend! We wish all our students, educators, and administrators well as a new school year begins. 📚

Last night, a group of our ladies gathered for a supper club and made dishes from our church cookbook(s)! Each person shared about the recipe they brought and many stories were told of the saints who have gone before us. It was a great feast of food and fun and was a sweet reminder of the ties that bind our church community across generations.

This morning, our adult and youth Sunday School classes took part in a couple hands-on projects to learn about and support local missions initiatives.

We packed care packages for college students in the LGBTQ+ support groups at Mercer, Middle Georgia State, and Wesleyan.

We also partnered with El Refugio, a ministry of hospitality and advocacy, to write letters of encouragement for immigrants detained in the Stewart Detention Center and provide resources for the loved ones who visit them.
