Macon Pride is bringing the cozy, creative vibes January 28th with our Bring Your Own Crafts (BYOC) Night at The 567 Center from 6–8 pm as part of our Crafting Hour & Safe Spaces series. Bring whatever you love to make: knitting, scrapbooking, jewelry, doodles, or that half-finished project you’ve been meaning to revive and settle in with a warm cup of hot chocolate on us. This gathering is all about community, creativity, and connection.
We’re excited to host an Artist TalkBack with two Macon creatives whose work sits at the intersection of art, politics, and social consciousness. Craig Hamilton, known for his celebrated illustration work with DC and Marvel, uses his art to illuminate human rights issues and the stories of q***r liberation. Beth Smith, a Macon favorite whose spiritual surrealism and nature-inspired pieces have reached political leaders in Washington, creates bold visual statements that challenge and inspires those who sit in seats of power.
With representatives from the Human Rights Campaign joining the conversation, they’ll illuminate how art ignites dialogue, inspire people to show up, stand together, and how we mobilize. We will see you there!!!
