Newsletter Article 5.26.26: Summer Schedule
My goodness, Friends, it’s hard to believe, but we’ve officially been worshipping together for over SIX MONTHS!
So much has happened since November. Both my families are settling into new rhythms together – my Haworth family, as we learn more about Macon; and our Church Family, as we learn and grow together at First Christian Church.
Summer brings a change of pace. I pray for your travel and family events. I hope you’ll plan to attend our church fellowship events, too. Here’s what we have planned for the next few months:
JUNE
Saturday, June 6 – Grill & Chill at the Roundhouse, 5-7pm.
There will be chillin’ and there will be grillin’.
Thursday, June 11 – Spirit FM Pop-Up Event, 2-4pm.
You can find more details at https://www.spiritfm.org/event/spirit-fm-pop-up-at-macon-first-christian-church/
JULY
Friday & Saturday, July 10-11 – Disciples of Christ General Assembly.
Join us as we gather virtually with hundreds of other Disciples from all over the United States. Macon FCC will host local congregations as we worship together in this unique online/in-person event. More details will come soon! You can learn more and register for the event here: https://disciples.org/2026-general-assembly-beyond-love-surpassing/
Sunday, July 12 – Camp Sunday during Worship.
July is CAMP MONTH, when our Disciples Youth attend camp at the Jo-Ota Camping and Retreat Center in Clarence. We’ll bless our youngest church members and the adults who are serving as camp counselors this year. Stay after church to make s’mores!
PSST! Parents! Register for camp here: https://mid-americaandmupcamps.godaddysites.com/neola%2Fmup-at-jo-ota -b1f2-417d-9ab7-0f085218f028
AUGUST
Early August – Beat the heat with an All-Church Pool Party! More details to come.
Tuesday, August 11 – The Macon Rotary Club’s Back to School Fair, 2-7pm.
Macon FCC will host this event, welcoming all Macon County students, ages K-5th grade.
Sunday, August 23 – Back to School Ice Cream Social after Worship. We’ll send our kids into the 26-27 School Year with blessings and ice cream sundaes.
Whatever your plans this summer, I give thanks that you call this church your HOME. There’s no other place like it!
Thank YOU, Dear Reader, for being part of this family.
