Vaughan Baptist Church A SUMMARY OF OUR BELIEFS​:

There is one and only one living and true God. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. We are made in His image.

He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe; He is infinite, all-powerful and all-knowing. God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God the Father reigns over His universe. He is loving and wise and is fatherly in His attitude toward all me. God the Son is Jesus Christ. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and bo

rn of the virgin Mary. Jesus is fully man and fully God. He took all sin upon Himself and gave His life freely on the cross to reconcile mankind to the Father. He died and was raised from the dead. He is now at the right hand of God the Father where He mediates for us. He will return triumphant one day. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He enables us to understand truth and convicts us of sin. His presence in us helps us to grow in character. He bestows spiritual gifts so that we can serve God through His church. The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is without error; it is totally true and trustworthy. It is our road map outlining principles set by God. Man is God's most special creation. At first, man and woman were innocent and without sin. God gave them freedom of choice and man chose to do what God had command him not to do. This brought sin into the world and every generation is impacted by it. All of us, at some point, chooses to do what God has commanded us not to do; thereby, all of us sin. God made a way for our sin to be forgiven through Jesus Christ. In Jesus, we find salvation. It if freely given to any that will receive it. God commands that the penalty of sin is death. Jesus took all sin as His own and died in our place. There is no way to gain salvation except by accepting the free gift of Jesus Christ. When we admit that we are sinners and acknowledge that Jesus has already paid our debt, we are regenerated (made new) - our old way of living is replaced by a new way guided by the Holy Spirit. We will turn away from sinful things (repent) and be forgiven for our sins (justification). We will allow the Spirit to begin transforming us to be more like Christ and allow ourselves to be used for God's purposes (sanctification).
