Lutheran North Example

Lutheran North Example http://lhnexample.blogspot.com/ Example is a student group that believes there are plenty of God-pleasing alternatives to drinking and drug use.

Example is based on I Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.”

'Twas the night of the Example Christmas Party
and all through the house...
there was a lot of chaos, fun, laughter, gifts, and the opportunity to give and receive encouragement to remain drug and alcohol free.

Thank you to our alumni Olivia '22, Delaney '22, and Cooper '21 for spending time with Example and sharing your experiences and advice on how to make God-pleasing decisions now and in the future. You were a vital part of Example as students, and you continue influencing the people God has placed in your lives. Mustangs encouraging Mustangs is always a win!

See you this Saturday from 7-9 p.m. for our annual Christmas party! We have some North alumni sharing encouragement on how Example has helped them make good decisions now that they are in college.

Bring a wrapped gift, for the always-raucous white elephant gift exchange. Dig around the basement, the attic, the garage for that very odd item that seems to be gathering dust. Wrap it up and bring it the party. If you purchase something, do not exceed $5.00.

Lutheran North students only. Cost is $5.00. Doors open at 7:00

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency has warned that fentanyl is being sold in multicolored pills and powders — sometimes referred to as “rainbow fentanyl” — marketed on social media to teens and young adults.

By GEOFF MULVIHILL Associated Press Lillianna Alfaro was a recent high school graduate raising a toddler and considering joining the Army when she and a friend bought what they thought was the anti-anxiety drug Xanax in December 2020. The pills were fake and contained fentanyl, an opioid that can be...

SHOCKtober was a great opportunity to receive and give encouragement.
Macomb County Assistant Prosecutor, Steve Fox was our guest speaker and he shared various legal ramifications of alcohol and drug possession and use. Steve has supported Example throughout the years with presentations to both Example and the student body. Steve's insights, clarity, and passion to make a difference in the lives of young men and women, were positive ways students received encouragement.
There were also plenty of laughs, candy corn, costumes and the opportunity to see teenagers striving to make a difference.
Thanks to everyone who attended, and special thanks to Steve Fox. Our next event is December 17.

Last night these students proved alcohol and drugs are not an inevitable part of high school. It was great to see so many students receiving and giving enCOURAGEment at our first event of the year!

Through information, guest speakers, students encouraging each other, and a focus on the redemption that is ours in Christ, we strive to help students avoid the horrific consequences of drug and alcohol use so they can lead a healthy, life encouraging others to do the same.

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an EXAMPLE for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. I Timothy 4:12
