Roy E. Spalti Obituary
Roy E. Spalti, 76, of Machias, NY, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, and is now home with our Lord Jesus Christ.
He was born to the late Norman and Beverly (Fullington) Spalti on March 7, 1950 and was also preceded in death by his brother, Russell Spalti, and his sister, Ruth.
Roy is survived by his beloved wife, Kim, whom he married on October 8, 1983. He is also survived by his children, Shawn (Melody nee Gifford), Jeffery (Ashley nee Daigler), Timothy (Emily nee Perry), Beth (Nick) Rose, Emma (James Zawaski), Daniel (Sarah nee Forcucci), Andrew, and Joseph; his 16 cherished grandchildren; and his brother, Ross (Claudia) Spalti.
A man of deep faith, Roy was a member of the First Christian Church of Machias and also attended The Movement Church in Port Charlotte, Florida. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era as a Drill Sergeant, achieving that position in remarkably short order and earning commendation for his accomplishment.
Following his military service, Roy built a successful career as a large equipment store manager and salesman for several Western New York companies.
Roy lived a life of service to his community. He volunteered with the Machias Volunteer Fire Department, where he also served as an EMT, and dedicated time as the Town Supervisor for the Town of Machias. He was also an active member of the Odosagih Bible Conference.
In his spare time, Roy found joy in hunting, fishing, major automobile body repair projects, and what his family lovingly described as a lifelong "affliction" for home renovations.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Saturday, June 20, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church of Machias. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m., concluding with Roy's favorite dinner shared among family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial memorials may be made to the Machias Volunteer Fire Department, 9548 Main Street, Machias, NY 14101.
