A lot of people have hard times or tragedy and say they prayed for those things to go away and they didn't. But the Gods do not work against Natural Law, nor does Natural Law constitute abandonment. The Gods strengthen and move through the Kosmic Order. For example, when my son was in the NICU, they didn't make the machines disappear, they strengthened my son's autonomy. Prayer is not about making eye-popping miracles. It's about spiritual strength, peace of mind, and endurance, to name a few. If something is meant to be, like a Death, the Death is going to happen, because it's part of Natural Law, not a failure in prayer. If you're meant to experience and endure something, it is part of Natural Law and Fate, not a failure in prayer. But the Gods, through things like prayer, will help you overcome your hurdles and challenges, and attain profound experiences.

You Are Pardoned
A song about Orestes by Soniva and Myself. Cover art created by TikTok AI

Lyrics

A shadow walks the dusty road of Argos tonight
With hands that bear the weight of a heavy, crimson fight
The Furies scream like winter winds inside a hollow head
Counting every drop of blood the House of Atreus shed
He falls upon the temple floor where marble meets the knee
A broken Prince of nothingness who begs to be set free
The cycle turns on rusted gears of vengeance and of pride
With nowhere left for a haunted man to run or even hide

Oh, let the gavel fall and break the iron chain
Wash away the memory of the sorrow and the pain
Athena holds the balance while the silver Archer sings
Mercy is the golden light that every morning brings
You are pardoned by the wisdom of the olive and the Sun
A new life is beginning where the old one is undone

Apollo stands with fire in his eyes and in his bow
He speaks for every silent truth the mortals never know
The vote is cast in silence while the city holds its breath
To end the ancient ritual of death following death
Athena counts the stones and finds the one that sets him loose
To slip the tightening circle and the hangman’s heavy noose
No more running through the dark with ghosts behind your heels
This is how the broken heart of a weary kingdom heals

Oh, let the gavel fall and break the iron chain
Wash away the memory of the sorrow and the pain
Athena holds the balance while the silver Archer sings
Mercy is the golden light that every morning brings
You are pardoned by the wisdom of the olive and the Sun
A new life is beginning where the old one is undone

Rise up from the ashes of the pyre you once knew
The Sky above the Parthenon is turning bright and blue
The past is just a phantom that is fading in the glare
Of a thousand possibilities hanging in the air
Take a breath of freedom, let the saltwater clear your eyes
Underneath the heavy weight of these vast and open Skies

Oh, let the gavel fall and break the iron chain
Wash away the memory of the sorrow and the pain
Athena holds the balance while the silver Archer sings
Mercy is the golden light that every morning brings
You are pardoned by the wisdom of the olive and the Sun
A new life is beginning where the old one is undoneWalk away into the light
Leave the furies in the night
Another chance to breathe again
Another path for broken men
The jury spoke, the soul is free
By the wisdom of the Deity

For America's 250th birthday, I don't want us to forget our ancient Greek roots. So I will give a video speech right from my temple.

Today is Plynteria, tha annual un******ng and washing of Athena's holy image from the Akropolis, to clean the image and its peplos of all the dust and residue it had accumulated over the year. This was done only by women. Men were not allowed to perform or see the rite, as it involved Athena's image being undressed. But as a man, you can recite a hymn to the Goddess today and pour a libation of fresh and pure water to Her. Plynteria means "The Cleanings" or "The Washing Ceremonies."
