As we think about Arbor Day today, let's also reflect on many important tree references in the bible.

The Tree of Life (Genesis 2:9, Revelation 22:2): Symbolizes eternal life and God's presence, located in the Garden of Eden and the New Jerusalem.

The Tree of Knowledge (Genesis 2:17): Represents the boundary of human obedience and the introduction of sin.

The Olive Tree (Romans 11:24, Psalm 52:8): Represents spiritual blessing, peace, and being grafted into God's family.

The Cedar of Lebanon (Psalm 92:12, Ezekiel 31:3): Symbolizes strength, majesty, and righteous stability.

The Oak Tree (Isaiah 61:3, Joshua 24:26): Represents strength and is often associated with covenant-making and "oaks of righteousness".

The Mustard Tree (Matthew 13:31-32): Represents the kingdom of heaven starting small and growing large.

The Fig Tree (John 1:48, Matthew 21:19): Often represents Israel and is used as a metaphor for spiritual fruitfulness or lack thereof.

The Vine (John 15:5): Jesus describes Himself as the true vine and believers as branches, emphasizing the need to stay connected to bear fruit.

Psalm 55:6 ESV
And I say, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest;
