Are you growing in your faith… or just getting comfortable?

Following Jesus is more than attending church on Sunday or knowing what the Bible says.

It's about allowing God's grace to continue shaping who we are and how we live.

But sometimes, without even realizing it, we can become comfortable in our routines and stop paying attention to our spiritual growth.

So how can we tell whether we're actually growing as disciples of Jesus?

Have you failed God? His mercy remains.

We've all fallen short. We've all made mistakes. And sometimes we carry the weight of those failures long after they've happened.

But here's the good news:

Our failures do not mean God's mercy has run out.

As we continue our journey through Romans 11 and our sermon series, The Mercy of God, we're reminded that God's grace is not something we earn by getting everything right.

His mercy calls us to turn back to Him, trust in Jesus Christ, and keep growing in faith.

If you've been wondering whether you've failed God too many times, remember this:

His mercy is greater than your failures.

Why Are You Standing?

Sometimes God calls us to take a step of faith, but we find ourselves standing still.

Maybe we're uncertain about what comes next. Maybe we're afraid of making the wrong decision. Or maybe we've simply grown comfortable where we are.

But following Jesus isn't just about knowing what God has said. It's about responding to Him in faith.

This morning at Mabelvale Methodist Church, Pastor John shared a message titled “Why Are You Standing?”

It's a question worth asking ourselves:

Is there something God is calling us to do, but we're still standing where we are?

What do you do when you've prayed, you've waited, and nothing seems to be changing?

Waiting on God isn't always easy.

Sometimes we know what we're asking Him to do, but we don't understand why the answer hasn't come.

And in those moments, we face an important question:

How do we continue trusting God when we don't know what comes next?

In today's Beyond Sunday, Pastor John talks about what it means to trust God's faithfulness during seasons of uncertainty and waiting.

Trusting God doesn't mean we never struggle with questions or discouragement. It means we continue turning to Him, even when we cannot see the way forward.

That’s the question on our church sign this week—and it points us toward an important truth from Romans 11: we stand only by the grace of God.

This Sunday, we’ll continue our series The Mercy of God as we look at Romans 11:11–24 and what it means to “Stand by Grace.”

This morning at Mabelvale Methodist Church, we began a new sermon series through Romans 11:

The Mercy of God

Paul begins with a troubling question:

“Has God rejected his people?”

His answer is immediate: “May it never be!”

Even when circumstances seemed to suggest otherwise, God had not abandoned His people or forgotten His promises. God was still at work—even when His work wasn't easy to see.
