Happy Mother’s Day! Today we thank God for the women who give life, tenderness, and steady courage to their families—and to the Church.

Lord, bless every mother. Renew their strength, reward their love, and fill their homes with peace. Amen.

Today we celebrate Bishop Alan Kemme’s 12th anniversary of service in the Diocese of Wichita—12 years of caring leadership and faithful shepherding.

Prayer: Lord, bless our Bishop and renew him with missionary joy. Strengthen him for the mission you entrust to him. O God, eternal Shepherd, grant that by word and example he may faithfully guide the flock in his care, so that, with the help of your grace, we may come to everlasting life. Amen.

Please join us on the first Friday of every month to pray before the Blessed Sacrament for the conversion of souls and the growth in fervent faith.

All of us know many people who, either through passive neglect or through an active, intentional decision, no longer practice their Catholic faith. They don’t come to Mass anymore, don’t go to confession anymore, don’t think with the Church anymore.

As you read these words, you are probably calling to mind such people in your own life. Having children or grandchildren, neighbors or friends who were raised Catholic, but who no longer practice the Faith is truly one of the heaviest crosses carried by people who do know the Lord, how good He is, and how beautiful it is to live a life in Christ, and that this life is short, and the life to come is eternal.

We need to pray for the return of inactive Catholics to the Church, that they will receive the sacrament of reconciliation (sacrament of penance) to be reconciled with God and His Church. We, also, need to pray for our brothers and sisters' conversion to the Catholic faith.

Today, on Good Shepherd Sunday, we joyfully celebrate and congratulate Fr. Bob on 25 years of faithful service to the priesthood!

What a beautiful reminder this day is of the gift a priest is to his people. Just as Christ is our Good Shepherd, a priest walks closely with his flock—guiding, teaching, comforting, and leading us ever closer to the heart of God. Through every Mass, every homily, every sacrament, and even the quiet moments of presence, Fr. Bob has been a steady and faithful shepherd in our lives.

A priest’s relationship with his parish is something truly sacred. He rejoices with us in our celebrations, walks with us in our struggles, and continually points us back to Christ with love and patience. Fr. Bob, thank you for your yes, for your dedication, and for the countless ways you have guided and cared for your people over these 25 years.

We are so blessed to have you as our shepherd. May God continue to strengthen you, fill you with joy, and bless your ministry abundantly in the years to come.
