Good morning, God.
First, I want to give You honor and glory because You are worthy. This is a letter penned to You for allowing me to see another year around the sun. Yesterday, I turned 48—or, like I love to say, forty-great!
God, You have truly been amazing in my life. You allowed a child who grew up with so many odds stacked against him to make it this far. Many have said I should not have made it, but I beg to differ.
As always, the enemy tried his best to mess with my year, but as always, You allowed me to outlast and outdo him. But enough about the enemy—let’s get into Your goodness.
First, You gave me life and life more abundantly.
Second, You allowed us to finally get into the house and neighborhood that has been nothing short of mind-blowing. Patience really does pay off. I can finally call this community my own, and I love every ounce of it.
You gave us a word for this year: “The Year of the Unfamiliar.” And You have brought us into unfamiliar territory, and I couldn’t be happier. I am finally walking fully in my career, and I am at a job where I fit in—and it fits me.
Our business has been booming, which I honestly didn’t see coming.
And even though we experienced the loss of my grandfather, somehow You used that loss to allow me to close a chapter in my life that I had struggled with for years—a chapter called pain.
Not pain from my grandparents, but pain caused by others who never appreciated my love or saw where You were taking me. My grandparents saw it, along with many others, and I am grateful for their love and support.
I am finally free to live a life without being controlled by that pain, something I never thought would happen. For those who know, you know.
Then, God, You did something completely off the charts.
You allowed the physical doors of our church to open back up, and I couldn’t be happier. I am truly blessed to be back in physical service and to have the opportunity to make an impact in the community. Not to mention, it is pretty amazing serving in ministry alongside my wife and kids.
God, I could go on and on about Your goodness and Your amazing blessings because, truth be told, You’re just getting started in my life.
Who would have thought that my family and I could continue rising and experiencing some of our greatest moments at a later stage in life?
Who would have thought that this abused, abandoned, and awkward child could grow up and be blessed the way I am today?
I don’t deserve any of this, but I am incredibly grateful for this life.
God, You have proven to me that when the world says no, You have the final YES.
Thank You, God, for simply giving me a chance.
Thank You for allowing me to walk in Your anointing and show the world that when God is in the mix, nothing is impossible.
Love always,
A grateful son,
Kodi
