The Cord is a ministry of Maple Park Lutheran Brethren Church, specifically aimed towards college/young adults. The name comes from Ecclesiastes 4:12, which says, "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." The mission statement of our ministry is rooted in that scripture and expressed in the three "cords" that we wish to define our community. These cords are: 1. A community to worship Christ with and to study his Word. 2. A community to serve others with. 3. A community to enjoy fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ. We hope you will come join us on Thursday nights for a meaningful time of worship, music, prayer, and fellowship. It is our hope and prayer that the Cord will be a welcoming community where lasting friendships will be made, spiritual fulfillment will be found, and faith will be strengthened.
