A well spoken timely word from a wise friend of our ministry...
In seasons of political tension and cultural division, it’s easy to look for reassurance in leaders, parties, platforms, and bandwagons. We want to believe that God is working through “our side,” that somehow our preferred voices fit neatly into His larger plan.
But what if God’s plan was already fully revealed—and fulfilled—in Christ?
What if the heart of God’s redemptive work was never meant to rest on human systems of power, but on the life, death, and resurrection of Yahshua the Christ?
Throughout history, Scripture shows us that God CAN work within broken systems. He has moved through imperfect rulers and flawed structures many times on behalf of His people. Yet this does not mean those systems represent His ideal. Often, they reflect humanity’s ongoing struggle with control and fear – greed and self-preservation.
The systems of power that dominate much of human government belong to a fallen order—one that is slowly giving way to the increasing light of Christ’s Kingdom.
I do not confess to understand HOW Father-Yahweh will bring all of this to fulfillment – but I DO know that He will. He has a plan. His redemptive work has already been orchestrated and paid for through Christ.
God is faithful to meet people in the midst of chaos. He brings good even out of human failure. But His Kingdom does not depend on political figures for its culmination and fulfillment.
The United States of America is not synonymous with the Kingdom of God.
Instead, the great “plan” was for the King Himself to come—bringing with Him the power of The Gospel: the power to set the captives free, the power to restore hearts, the power to impart to us the very nature and character of our Father.
This divine power is not subject to any political system, and does not need a Christian Culture to become reality in a person’s life.
Yahshua entered our world as the Son of Man so that He could be our Priest, our Savior, our Redeemer.
He came to win hearts not territories and voting districts.
And He certainly did not come to redeem systems of men – but rather to bring all powers under His feet in His Father’s honor…even those you agree with the most.
And we now live in the fullness of that promise.
Or we should.
We are no longer waiting for another ruler to reveal God’s will. We are invited to follow the One who has already shown us what divine authority truly looks like.
Yet many of us feel compelled to align deeply with systems we believe reflect Kingdom values. Many in the Body of Christ seem to think it actually matters which party is in power, who resides in the White House, which Super Bowl Half Time show you watched.
I mean - to actually believe that either of those shows expressed righteousness and true love in any way…really?
Sports.
Entertainment.
Politics.
THAT’S what you’re fighting for?
THAT’S how you are determining relationships?
THAT is how you are being led?
God help us.
We have been bewitched and taken captive by our own belief systems…
We have become Christian Crusaders instead of Children of Light being led by His Spirit in us…and we are convinced our morality codes and banners crying for the Ten Commandments are an actual expression of the nature and character of our Creator.
Sounds a little like the Pharisees to me.
I understand when “the world” sows division. I can see how those who are not in Him fall prey to hate and anger.
But I am troubled and confused by how those who profess to be part of the Body of Christ are ALSO being divided…who are eating from the same trough of hate…who are spewing the same anger…who are putting their trust in horses, chariots, kings…and often doing so in His name.
When we come into our true identity in Him, and understand we are SEATED with Him in Heavenly places, we will begin to understand that our citizenship is in His Holy Nation. And THAT Kingdom is pure and will not be integrated into any system of man, regardless how much or how little YOU or I agree or disagree with it.
Where Christ is honored, fear begins to loosen its grip.
Where Christ is trusted, love takes root and multiplies.
In HIM, and Him alone…
“They” will know us by our love for one another…NOT by our political affiliation, our favorite team, or which half time show you approved.
May we open our hearts to repentance and redemption, and place our deepest hope not in earthly systems, but in the gentle and powerful transforming love and anointing of Yahshua the Christ.
Father, YOUR Kingdom come…YOUR will be done…in earth as it is in Heaven and bring your sons and daughters OUT of Babylon into the glorious revelation of WHO you are and WHO we are in You.
