• Juneteenth and Father’s Day Coffee Hour: Come join the coffee hour following worship where we will celebrate the Juneteenth holiday. Delicious desserts will be served as we engage in conversation on this important American holiday. We will also recognize and honor all the fathers attending.

• Book Club: The book club will resume meeting at Messiah this summer in the Sittler Lounge and/or the library. We will meet on July 14, 2026, at 7pm to discuss the book Starry Messenger: Cosmic Perspectives on Civilization by Neil de Grasse Tyson. Bring your own beverage. We will also hand out the book The Correspondent by Virginia Evans to discuss on Tuesday, August 11 at 7pm. Contact Nancy Pittard if you have questions: [email protected].

• Shoes and Clothes for Kids – July 27 at 10am: Volunteer Opportunity hosted by Social Ministry. Please join us on July 27 from 10 a.m. to noon at Shoes and Clothes for Kids, 15500 South Waterloo Road, Cleveland, OH. Shoes and Clothes for Kids is a non-profit organization which provides school clothes and school supplies for students in need at Cleveland area schools. We will help to organize clothing and school supplies for the upcoming academic year. If you can help, RSVP to Karen Dickerson at [email protected] by July 20. Karen will then send you an additional form to complete which is required for all volunteers.

• New Member Sunday: We are hoping to welcome new members during the summer months if there is interest. Talk to Pastor Paul or another friend at the Church if you’d like to learn more!

-- Beloved Church, Like ripples on still water, the Gospel moves outward and shares God’s love through the ups and downs of our lives. Just as Jesus sent out disciples in his day, he also sends us in our day to accompany one another and make grace real among us. Come join for outdoor worship as we together move outwards with God’s love. (In case of inclement weather, a message will be sent out Sunday morning with further details).

• 3rd Annual Outdoor Worship & Summer Picnic – Sunday June 14th at 10am: Join us as we kick off the summer with a morning of outdoor worship, food, and fun. We will meet at Wiley Park (610 SOM Center Rd. by the Mayfield Village Fire Station). We will worship together in the pavilion followed by a potluck picnic. Hotdogs, burgers, and water will be provided by the Connections Team. Bring your favorite summer dessert or side dish to share! There are picnic benches in the pavilion but consider bringing lawn chairs if you'd like.
**PLEASE NOTE: WIFI may not be available, which means worship will likely not be streamed. It will be recorded and posted online both on Facebook and YouTube later on Sunday.

Thank you to the Hillcrest Concert Band for the wonderful music tonight! We had perfect weather along with the music and ice cream. A big thank you to Goldies, our neighbor across the street who donated apple fritters and donuts for the band. 😋

Dear Church, Life can be so fragmented at times that it feels like the pieces might never fit together again. A major part of Jesus’ ministry seemed to focus on attending to and walking with people who knew just how broken things can be. As “the green season” swells again in our lives of worshipful faith, we enter back into the stories of the ministries of this Jesus who accompanies and heals, and are invited to respond to it all faithfully here in our own day. The Rev. Dr. Laura Barbins has been re-elected as our Northeastern Ohio Synod Bishop! Thank you to Messiah voting members Dale Veres, Marta Safko, and Jon Paulus, alongside parliamentarian Dave Lenz. We look forward to being Christ’s Church together in this next leg of ministry.
