2nd Timothy 3:4
New Living Translation
4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.
This is not an attack against certain people, rather the sin that we have brought.
Since European and American imperialism, We have taken control over societies that were primitive to some extent at least. By doing that we introduced to them the delicacies, comfort, conveniences, and power that these societies did not have access to otherwise. However, these primitive societies became addicted to these “luxuries”.
We have promised them hope and power, yet we have left them disempowered. The only ones empowered by the legal system/ government are the ones who created the legal system/government and those who can do their bidding.
Many of us have chased “success” according to the western world’s definition of it. It is not the pursuit of wealth, but rather the over attachment to wealth that has pierced us with many sorrows as Apostle paul wrote in 1st Timothy 6:10. What that meant was that people will compromise their morals and the commands of God to get what they want when they overly seek money.
It is not just the primitive societies that became addicted to pleasure, but rather it is anyone that has an over atttachment to money, and what it can bring, that is not of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Rich want you to become dependent on the their system/government. You are most likely their cattle and they are the Farmer.
However, what do we do about such things. We must become survival Experts. We must learn how to live off of the land once more. We must do this indefinitely and pass those skills down to each generation. What can they take from us this way? Who shall we be afraid of then?
If I had to guess, I would say that it is the survival expert who has the greatest odds of making it to Heaven, the one who lives off the grid, not the regular church attender, because many of them are searching for a sense of belonging among men, rather than Christ himself, and not the monk either because they can be victim of idolatry and living too.
Once again, I am convinced that it is the Elijahs and the John the Baptists who are the most likely to enter heaven. The ones who are willing to live in the wildnerness for the sake of Christ. Let’s master survival skills like the S.E.R.E. trained person in the military yet totally depend on Christ.
