Liberty University School of Business

Liberty University School of Business This school offers two majors: Accounting and Business. Moreover, each has extensive teaching experience in the classroom. military.

The School of Business at Liberty University is distinct in several ways, and yet in other ways it is like any other excellent school that prepares young men and women to be leaders in Business and Accounting positions. A Business major may choose to specialize in Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, or International Business. The strengths of this school include t

he following:

First, of the 27 full-time faculty in the school, over 95% have earned terminal degrees or are completing work on those degrees, and consequently have excellent credentials in their discipline. Second, each faculty member has served in the professional world, from service as a practicing Certified Public Accountant to work with major professional business organizations to leadership within the U.S. Therefore, in addition to academic excellence our students will find relevant experience. Third, each faculty member has professed a dynamic faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Many serve as officers in their respective churches, and at least one is a pastor. These individuals are concerned for the "whole student"--intellectual, social, physical and spiritual. Lastly, Liberty University is a teaching university, meaning that faculty in the School of Business are concerned with a student's mastering the academic material and applying that material to his or her future profession. In addition, faculty are committed first and foremost to the individual student before research and publishing; leading to opportunities to pray with students, counsel students and mentor students, activities that occur regularly in the classroom, in the office, in the home or in places where the student feels most comfortable.

Last week, we welcomed several of our Business Doctoral Students to our Second Annual Doctoral Residency.

These online students were able to connect with their professors and peers, participate in helpful lectures and sessions, and explore Liberty’s Campus. We are so grateful for the time we got to spend with these incredible students and look forward to next year’s residency!

At the end of August, the Department of Hospitality and Sport Management hosted a Practicum Site Fair to give students an opportunity to meet directly with potential practicum sites, learn more about the different experiences available to them, and practice their professional networking skills.

Students enrolled in our practicum courses are required to complete hours within the sport/hospitality industry, and the Site Fair allowed them to explore several different areas of the industry before selecting a placement. Through this Site Fair, students were able to connect with over ten different organizations including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, The Flames Club, The Hill City Howlers, and the Hill City FC.

The event was a great success, and it was exciting to see our students interacting with professionals, asking questions, and learning more about the different career opportunities available within the sport industry.

If you are interested in getting involved with a practicum like this, email us at [email protected].

Definitely my capstone intensive class — so much to do, so little sleep, so worth it!

Dr. Frichtel and Dr. Koss have both been impactful mentors throughout my time in the School of Business. Their love for the Lord, their students, and the information they share is palpable. It has been a privilege and pleasure to learn from them.

I would choose Dr. Bovard, who is an incredible combination of Biblical knowledge and wisdom, dry humor, memes, and movie references. I know that I would get a sound piece of advice rooted in truth but delivered with intelligent humor and potentially a Cars reference thrown in there, too (Ka-chow!).
