Science in Action!

Our 5th & 6th grade class has been learning all about plant and animal cells this week! They put their knowledge into action by creating their very own cell models.

They did an amazing job and had so much fun learning about the different parts and functions of cells! We are so proud of their hard work and creativity!

Now Hiring: Enrichment Program Leader

Desmond T. Doss Christian Academy is looking for a caring, energetic, and Christ-centered individual to lead our After-School Enrichment Program for the 2026–2027 school year.

If you have a heart for children, enjoy creating a positive and engaging environment, and desire to serve in a Christian school ministry, we would love to hear from you!

Position
Enrichment Program Leader
Schedule
Monday–Thursday: 3:15 PM – 5:15 PM
Friday: 2:15 PM – 5:15 PM
Approximately five Fridays throughout the school year are early dismissal days, with hours from 12:15 PM – 5:15 PM.
School Year: August 17, 2026 – June 2, 2027

Responsibilities
Supervise and care for up to 20 students, ages 5 and older.
Foster a safe, positive, and Christ-centered environment.
Assist students with homework.
Plan and lead fun, engaging, and age-appropriate after-school activities.
Build positive relationships with students and families.
Model Christian values through words, actions, and attitude.

Qualifications
Must love God
Enjoy working with elementary-aged children.
Strong classroom management and leadership skills.
Dependable, organized, patient, and enthusiastic.
Ability to create a welcoming environment where children feel loved, safe, and encouraged.

We are so proud of our Karter West! She worked very hard to be our 2026 Desmond T. Doss Christian Academy spelling bee champion. Then went on to become the Potomac Conference champion! Way to go Karter!
To God be the glory for giving her the wisdom, ability, and determination needed for this accomplishment! 💜
