Trinity Episcopal Church in Lynchburg, VA 10:30am Sunday service//an inclusive + affirming church with reverent worship & warm fellowship. Please join us on Sundays at 10:30 AM

06/18/2026

Join us for what promises to be a thoughtful, powerful, and inspiring conversation that explores what Juneteenth asks of the Church. For many Christians, Juneteenth is a day that appears on the calendar but remains only partially understood. Yet the story at its heart raises profound questions about freedom, justice, memory, and discipleship.

We are delighted to partner with our friends at Episcopal Divinity School on this timely conversation that will help us move beyond superficial commemoration and explore what repentance, truth-telling, and transformation look like for congregations today.

We hope to see you on Thursday, June 18 at 3:00pm Eastern/12:00pm Pacific. Register here: bit.ly/JuneteenthEPN

Here’s one of the prayers prayed over Bishop Karin in the service: O God of unchangeable power and eternal light: Look favorably on your whole Church, that wonderful and sacred mystery; by the effectual working of your providence, carry out in tranquillity the plan of salvation; let the whole world see and know that things which were cast down are being raised up, and things which had grown old are being made new, and that all things are being brought to their perfection by him through whom all things were made, your Son Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

We welcome The Rt. Rev. Karin MacPhail as the 7th Bishop of the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia!
