Week 1, we're so excited to see you in just a few hours!

Parents, here are a few last reminders as you and your camper get ready to come to camp this afternoon:

🌲 Check-in for Elementary, Junior High, and Mini Camp #1 is from 2-4pm today. Check-in for Mini Camp #2 is at 9am on Wednesday.
🌲 Make sure you've uploaded your completed Health and Release Forms to ACTIVE.
🌲 Don't forget the snacks and mail you want to leave for your camper to have during store time.
🌲 Check the packing list one more time to make sure your camper doesn't leave anything.

STAFF TRAINING 2026 🌲

Two weeks of learning, playing, and exploring wrapped up today. Our team has earned certifications in CPR/First Aid/AED and lifeguarding. They have discussed camp rules and child behavior. They've built campfires and played games. And y'all - this is a GREAT team. We know you'll love them!

We are looking forward to welcoming Week 1 campers on Sunday!

A Note from Russell Casteel

After Summer Camp 2026, I will transition to serve solely as the Executive Director of TWK Camp and Retreat Ministry. I have served both as the Site Director of Cedar Crest and the TWK Conference Director since 2018. The Camping Board of Directors began to imagine this shift a few years ago, and we have discerned together that it is time to step into this deepened commitment to sustainable, faithful camping ministry. My family and I will be moving to Murfreesboro after the summer to be in between Beersheba Springs Assembly and Cedar Crest.

When I began this work at Cedar Crest in 2013, I was the only full-time staff person for 3 years. Now, Cedar Crest has 7 full-time, year-round staff: I am thrilled to share that the staffing transition ahead all comes from within! Audrey Jordan will serve as the new Site Director here at Cedar Crest. Caleb Purdue will serve as Program Director. Madison Causey will begin serving as Registrar. Director of Culinary Services Becky Kilian, Grounds and Adventure Camp Director Davis Winstead, and Environmental Education Director Philip Salter are all here and will continue to offer the leadership and excellence that they have since 2016. Audrey and I are working closely together, onboarding and shifting responsibilities for the season ahead. This transition will ensure that we have coverage at camp during this summer, keeping your campers and their experience first. I will be here this summer, and I look forward to seeing you and your campers all summer long!

I am excited for this opportunity and ready to support camping in its next phase! Transition means change, and of course, this summer there will be a lot of that. Our team is ready for this opportunity, and I cannot wait to see and support Cedar Crest grow in its next act! I am so thankful for your love of camp, and we need that more than ever. I look forward to sharing new opportunities for you to support Cedar Crest in the season ahead.
