From Nehemiah 4 — when opposition rises, the rebuilders don’t back down. They pray, they set a guard, and they work with a tool in one hand and a sword in the other.

Don’t fear. Remember the Lord. Fight. Our Bible is our sword to fight against the enemy. 📖

Four decades. Tens of thousands of songs. One name lifted high. On Sunday we celebrated 40 years of Pastor Ron Upton leading Idlewild in worship. A legacy left, lives touched, love displayed. Thank you, Pastor Ron! Grateful for you and your family.

In case you missed Sunday’s announcement, we have officially completed the transactions surrounding Palm Avenue Baptist Church.

After receiving final HUD approval, the church has now received the historic Palm Avenue Baptist property and completed the sale of the Palm Avenue Tower and Casa de Palma.

This is an incredible milestone in a journey that began with a vision to replant a 126-year-old church that has been closed for 40 years. Lord willing, early next year Palm Avenue Baptist Church will once again be filled with families, its baptistry filled with water, and lives transformed by the power of the gospel.

Pastor Edgar was a diplomat working for the President of the Dominican Republic when God called him to seminary. He was prayerfully ready to take that first step — God provided before he even finished asking.

That’s Nehemiah’s story too. He had four months of prayer before he ever spoke to the king and asked to leave and go to Jerusalem.

Faith isn’t believing God will do everything while we do nothing. It’s believing Him enough to move and take the step.

Faith prays. Prepares. Proceeds.

Our 4th & 5th graders brought the energy this weekend! ⚡ From dodging lasers on to getting absolutely soaked at the foam party, this lock-in had it all. But between the chaos and the laughter, these kids showed up for worship and dug into God's Word together — and that's what it's really about. So proud of our future leaders!
