Saying yes to God doesn’t mean saying yes to an easy life. Sometimes the calling comes with persecution, heartache, warfare, sacrifice, and pain. But even when the road gets bloody, even when the assignment hurts, the yes is still worth it.

Jesus showed us what that kind of surrender looks like in Gethsemane. He knew what was ahead, yet He prayed, “Not my will, but Your will be done.”

That is the heart of true surrender: Lord, even when I don’t understand it, even when it hurts, even when I wish this cup would pass—my yes is still a yes.

When you put Christ first, your circumstances don’t determine your commitment. Your answer remains YES!

We Are The Forerunners

God has never needed you to have someone else’s gifts, influence, education, or abilities to accomplish the assignment He placed on your life. Stop disqualifying what God has already put in your hands.

Your compassion matters. Your ability to listen matters. Your encouragement matters. Your willingness to love, serve, and show up matters. What you may consider ordinary, God can use for something extraordinary.

You don’t have to be like somebody else. You don’t have to have what they have. God is simply asking: Are you available?

How many times have we told God, “I can’t answer Your call because I don’t have what they have?” We compare their education, their influence, their courage, their gifts, their voice, their ability to preach, sing, or pray—and convince ourselves that God can’t use us.

But God isn’t asking you what they have. He’s asking what you have.

Jael didn’t need what someone else had. What was already in her hand was enough for the assignment God placed before her. Stop comparing your hands to somebody else’s. What God has placed in you may be exactly what He intends to use.

Sometimes we’re waiting for God to give us a big assignment, a clear direction, or a specific place to go. But what if the assignment is already standing right in front of you?

The person God keeps placing in your path. The child He entrusted to you. The opportunity that seems too small to matter. The situation that feels like an interruption to your plans.

Sometimes answering God’s call means recognizing the assignment hidden inside the interruption. Pay attention to what God keeps placing in front of you. What you see as an inconvenience may be exactly where He wants to use you.

There are things we could never accomplish on our own. Our efforts, our sacrifices, and our righteousness could never fully bridge the gap between us and God. So God did what we could not do.

When we couldn’t become like Him, He became like us. Jesus stepped into humanity, took our place, and gave Himself to redeem us back to God.

His ways are higher than our ways, and His plan was greater than anything we could have understood. What looked confusing to humanity was always part of God’s plan of redemption.

When we couldn’t reach Him, He came to us.

Jesus answered Peter with one word: “Come.”

The storm was still raging. The wind was still contrary. The waves were still tossing the ship. But Jesus was calling Peter toward Him.

Sometimes we want God to calm everything around us before we’re willing to move. But there are moments when Jesus is saying, “Come.” Come out of fear. Come out of comfort. Come out of what you’ve always known. Come toward Me.

You don’t have to understand everything. You just have to trust the One who’s calling you. Because even in your darkest hour, Jesus—the Light of the world—is there.

There are moments when you’ve tried everything you know to do. You’ve tried to be strong, you’ve tried to fix it, and you’ve tried to carry it on your own. But eventually, you realize you’re sinking and you can’t save yourself.

That’s where Peter was. He didn’t have another plan. He simply cried out, “Lord, save me.”

And immediately, Jesus reached for him.

Maybe you’re there right now. You don’t need the perfect words or all the answers. Just cry out to Jesus. When you can’t hold yourself up anymore, His hand can still reach you.
