Sunday, when the Luray Church of the Brethren gathers for worship at 9:30 am, we'll hear the story of Jesus encountering three different folk, each story an interruption of their daily routine....and we'll recall Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit and how his life changed when he was interrupted by a knock on his door. Through story, poetry, music and conversation, we'll consider how God meets us in the midst of life...a holy interruption! Join us.

Do you know the story of Raven? In the Pacific Northwest, Raven is part of the creation story. He was the one who brought light to a dark world. Tomorrow when the Luray Church of the Brethren gathers at 9:30 am, we'll hear that story and also the scriptural account of the disciples being given the great commission to carry the light of Christ into a needy world. Scripture, story, poetry, and music...join us and hear the call to continue to be light bearers.

Join us tomorrow at 9:30 am when the Luray Church of the Brethren gathers for worship. We'll be celebrating Pentecost, the birth of the church and also observing Memorial Day. In music, song, poetry and story, we'll focus on how the Spirit moves in this world to bring about God's purposes. We welcome you!

What do you do when you're forced to wait? This week at the Luray Church of the Brethren, when we gather to worship at 9:30 am, we tackle the story of Jesus and the Disciples when they discuss God's timing in making the world complete. Jesus makes clear that this is a time for waiting and the disciples are unhappy. We'll also hear another ancient story about a woman who found a way to pass the time when forced to wait in her life. We live in an incomplete world today, with no sign of things improving any time soon. Let's face that challenge together. Come ponder with us.
