OLD ANTIOCH PRESENTATION is the non-profit group who has owned and maintained the church building and grounds for the last 20 years. Old Antioch is the first Christian Church in Page County. It is the mother church of Luray Christian Church & other affiliated Christian Churches. It is the foundation of Antioch Independent in Luray.
The church is a community building, now unaffiliated with a denomination and there are no regular meetings held here. Other than an occasional wedding, meeting or reunion - the property is unused.
Unfortunately, however, it is on the verge of disbanding due to lack of board members. The church was deeded by gift to the local group contingent on the non-profit managing and maintaining the property. Upon disbandment, the church will revert to the group in SC who let it fall to ill repair before it got saved by the preservation group.
Everyone was excited to see the church saved 20 years ago, check the Facebook to refresh your memory of what it looked like before this group stepped up, no roof, rotten siding, basically no interior. In order to now save the church once again, people need to find it in their heart to **donate several hours a year** and serve on the executive board.

Also to those curious about the retaining wall that fell and the graves potentially compromised, the cinder block wall was installed by VDOT when Antioch Road was cut down which was probably 60+ years ago. The wall was put on their right of way line. Within the past 5 or so years VDOT cleaned their drainage ditch and cut that ditch line down to the point it compromised the wall foundation. They were notified of its cracking and leaning condition some time ago. When the wall fell January 17, 2025, they cleaned up the block, dug into the bank even taking some cemetery property but VDOT has failed to replace the wall.

The Old Antioch Church board will hold it's annual meeting Monday May 19 at 6:30 at the church 1675 Stonyman Rd, Luray. Officers will be elected. Interested persons are welcome to attend.

The church needs someone to replace rotting siding boards. Probably 80% of the rear of the church needs replacing and some on lower sides from water damage.

It's been years since we have reached out to asking for help. With all the families represented in the cemetery or who attended church there, we are hoping the answer to our need lies in our community.

Please message suggestions of someone to help. Volunteers would be great. If we have to pay someone they should be licensed and insured.

Looking for help to trap & remove ground hog going under rear of church. He comes out in the side yard around 7pm on a good day. He's being destructive so he needs to leave.
