Covenant Baptist Church We are a Reformed Baptist church located in Lumberton, NJ. We desire to love God, love others, and be a light to those in our community.

A Church is a building, a spiritual temple where God is worshiped through Christ (Eph. 2:21) – the building which Christ promised to build (Matt. 16:18, 1 Cor. 3:9, 1 Pet. 2:4-7). This means that a local church has Christ as the cornerstone of its constitution and construction, the apostles and prophets as the foundation (Eph. 2:20), and the saints as the superstructure (Eph. 2:21-22). A Church is

the body of Christ, of which He is the Head (Eph. 4:15-16). This image is the most personal, because we all know how the body works. Paul developed the body image to the fullest in Ephesians 4. A local church is a group of committed disciples who love one another and work together in the same way that the human body works for its good and health. But the difference is that Christ is the Head and the body takes its direction from Him. A Church is the bride of Christ (Eph. 5:22-33, Rev. 19:7, 21:9). He is the bridegroom (Matt. 25:6, 10). This image is the most precious. This means that the members of a local church must be pure for their groom – Christ, and not commit spiritual adultery by slipping off into worldly ways and ungodly alliances (James 1:27, 4:4).
