I heard someone ask recently:
Where do Save Our Children funds go?
What does it actually do?
How do we know it makes a difference?
If you have a moment, I’d like to answer that with a story.
Save Our Children has never been just another offering to me.
For me and my family, it is personal.
Because I know what it feels like to be one of the children people were giving to.
When I was a very small child, I was placed at Tupelo Children’s Mansion. I spent three and a half years of my life in the care of people who were supported by funds given from churches and individuals.
Because people gave, there was a place for me.
There was safety.
There was truth.
There was hope.
There was a future I could not see yet.
Then I was blessed to be adopted by parents who loved me, raised me, and treated me as their own.
Because people gave.
And now, years later, I get to serve the Texas District in children’s ministry and help raise money for the same kind of work that helped change my life.
Because people gave.
That is what Save Our Children does.
It supports Tupelo Children’s Mansion and orphanages around the world. It helps Junior Bible Quizzing. It helps fund Holy Ghost crusades internationally. It reaches children who may never know the name of the person who gave, but whose lives may be forever changed because someone cared enough to give.
You may never meet the child your offering reaches.
You may never hear their full story.
But heaven keeps good records.
Every dollar matters.
Every gift matters.
Every sacrifice matters.
Give because children are worth it.
Give because futures are being shaped.
Give because someone gave before us.
Save Our Children does not just meet needs.
It changes futures.
It does not just help a child today. It helps raise a generation that can move the mission tomorrow.
It helps create men and women who know what mercy looks like because they have lived it.
It helps build families, strengthen churches, and reach children who may one day turn around and say, “I am here because somebody gave.”
Save Our Children is more than an offering.
It is an investment in the future of the Church.
