Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

At the Michael J. Dias Foundation, we recognize that Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it’s a day to reflect, show gratitude, and remember those who gave everything in service to our country.

As we spend time with family and friends, let us also keep in our hearts the heroes who are no longer with us and the families who carry their legacy forward. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Today, Power Forward came to visit us at Michael’s House. We are incredibly grateful for their continued support of our organization and our mission.

Power Forward has been helping fund housing support for new residents who apply and are approved through their grant program. When funding is available, this assistance can help cover a resident’s first 4 to 6 weeks of housing, giving them the opportunity to begin their new lifestyle with stability and support.

This important transition period allows residents time to seek employment, participate in IOP or PHP programs, attend meetings, and build a strong foundation for long-term recovery.

Their support makes a meaningful difference during one of the most important transitions in a person’s recovery journey, and we are so thankful for their partnership ❤️

Last Friday marked the anniversary of the passing of Michael J. Dias, who we lost in 2009 due to addiction. The foundation is named after Michael.

We take this moment to pause and remember Michael—not just for how his life ended, but for who he was, the lives he touched, and the legacy that continues through the work being done in his name.

Michael’s story continues to inspire hope, healing, and change for those still struggling with substance use disorder. His memory lives on through our mission and through every person who finds support and a second chance at life.
