Today, on National Purple Heart Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who have been wounded, killed, and awarded the Purple Heart in service to our nation.
The Purple Heart medal, established by George Washington in 1782, symbolizes courage, sacrifice, and the unwavering spirit of those who have given so much for our country.
